- Funding under the scheme will be extended to eligible manufacturing, service establishments, and business activities through nationalized banks, regional rural banks, state cooperative banks, and other scheduled banks.
- Margin money, provided as a grant by the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of Uttarakhand, will be a component of the funding. The project cost limit is set at Rs. 25 lakhs (maximum) for the manufacturing sector and Rs. 10 lakhs (maximum) for the service and business sectors.
- According to the MSME Policy-2015 (amended in 2016, 2018, and 2019), the upper limit and quantum of margin money vary for different categories:
- Category A: 25% of the total project cost (maximum of Rs. 6.25 lakh for manufacturing and Rs. 2.50 lakh for service and business activity).
- Categories B & B+: 20% of the total project cost (maximum of Rs. 5 lakh for manufacturing and Rs. 2 lakh for service and business activity).
- Categories C & D: 15% of the total project cost (maximum of Rs. 3.75 lakhs for manufacturing and Rs. 1.50 lakh for service and business activity), whichever is lower.
- After successful operation for 2 years, the margin will be adjusted as a grant.
- General category beneficiaries are required to deposit 10 percent of the project cost in the bank as their contribution. Special category beneficiaries (Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Minorities, Ex-Servicemen, Women, and Persons with Disabilities) need to contribute 5 percent of the total project cost.
- The total project cost encompasses capital expenditure (excluding land purchase costs) and a working capital cycle. It may include expenses for a rented workshop or work shed, but the cost of land purchase is not included.

However, if the applicant received benefits five years ago from another self-employment scheme of the Government of India or State Government and is not a defaulter, funding can be obtained under the scheme for enterprise expansion.
