On the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas i.e. November 15, 2023, commemorating the birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Khunti, Jharkhand. Five specially designed Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Vans, conveying messages about the government’s flagship welfare programs, were dispatched to various Gram Panchayats with a significant tribal population in Khunti district and nearby areas. The government of India launched ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ to ensure saturation of flagship government schemes.
Similar IEC vans were launched by prominent dignitaries, including Governors, Chief Ministers, Union Ministers, and Ministers of State, across 68 districts in the country with substantial tribal populations. This saturation drive, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, will encompass all 2.7 lakh panchayats across the country. It commenced on November 15, 2023, and will run till January 26, 2024.
In this article, we are going to talk about the government schemes that are going to talk about this year. All these schemes will be very important from the exam point of view and also for the people in general. We are going to discuss some of the schemes that will be talked about in this campaign. This campaign aims to ensure the full implementation of various schemes.
What is the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra ?
The “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” is a campaign launched on November 15, 2023, to disseminate public awareness about government welfare schemes at the grassroots level. This campaign will be running from November 15, 2023, to January 26, 2023. Under the campaign, awareness about the various government welfare schemes that have been launched in the last 9 years will be showcased. This will be done through the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Vans. These vans will run across all 68 districts of the country. Let’s talk about the scheme in detail.
The initiative has been organized as a comprehensive project to saturate all schemes, reflecting the Prime Minister’s commitment to covering 100% of beneficiaries. This marks the largest-ever effort to reach every gram panchayat in the country, with over 2.5 lakh gram panchayats set to be covered over two months, involving vans, IEC vans, and the participation of various departments. Seventeen schemes have been identified for rural areas, and 17 different schemes for urban areas will be the focus of the yatra.
The initial focus of the yatra is on covering tribal populations, farmers, women, and youth, especially those residing in challenging terrains. The Prime Minister’s emphasis on doubling farmers’ income, the special attention given to women through the Nari Vandan Bill, and the focus on children, particularly during examinations, are key aspects of the yatra. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, along with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, spearhead the yatra, with a specific focus on farmers, covering topics such as the Kisan Credit Card, the use of fertilizers, natural farming, and best farming practices.
