In a bid to empower girls and enhance educational opportunities, Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog announced the initiation of the Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina (MMNM) scheme on Monday, February 12, 2024, during her speech at the Assam Budget 2024. Drawing inspiration from the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, the MMNM initiative aims to support the education of one million girls across the state.

Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina initiative marks a substantial stride towards the government’s overarching goal of eliminating child marriages by providing girls the tools to make informed life choices.
