What is Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan?

The Assam government has launched launch the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan, an initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among the 39 Lakh women in the state who are members of self-help groups. This was launched on January 20, 2024, where eligible women can apply for the same by visiting the panchayat office in different centers. 

Under the initiative, each applicant will receive a ₹10,000 grant in the first year to kickstart a business from a government-prepared list of 145 business plans. With a total budget of ₹4000 crores as part of the state annual budget, this is the largest project of its kind in Assam. In the second year, each woman will be eligible for a ₹12,500 bank loan and an equivalent grant of Rs 12,500 from the state government (non-refundable). An audit will also be conducted to ensure proper utilization of the funds received in the previous year.   • Should not have more than 3 children (for General and OBC beneficiaries)

  • The trees planted under Amrit Brikshya Andolan should be surviving
  • Submit a business plan to avail of the grant (plan to be prepared and supported by Govt)
