Goa Laadli Laxmi Scheme is a welfare scheme launched by the Goa Government. It was initiated on July 6, 2012, and stands as a flagship program under the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Goa. This scheme’s primary goal is to counter the alarming prevalence of female foeticide and challenge the prevailing perception that the birth of a girl in a family places a financial burden on her parents or guardians, particularly about marriage. The scheme’s objective is to provide financial empowerment to the girl child, assisting in meeting educational and other expenses upon reaching adulthood, and concurrently striving to enhance the female sex ratio in the state.

Important Note:
- The application must be submitted within six months from the date of Civil Marriage Registration. Any applications received after these six months will be rejected. However, the Directorate of Women and Child Development may, in writing, condone a delay of up to an additional six months for justified reasons.

Goa Laadli Laxmi Scheme Benefits 2024
For unmarried recipients (individuals who reach the age of majority, i.e., 18 years, on or after April 1, 2012)
A financial grant of ₹1,00,000 will be provided through a bank fixed deposit, held jointly by the Director (Department of Women & Child Development) and the applicant. The fixed deposit will automatically renew annually upon maturity, inclusive of the accrued interest, until the applicant makes a claim under the scheme or reaches the age of 45, whichever comes earlier.
For married recipients (those who reached the age of 18 before April 1, 2012, and fall within the age bracket of 19 to 45 years starting from April 1, 2016):
A financial aid of ₹1,00,000 will be extended through a cash payment.

Goa Laadli Laxmi Scheme Eligibility Criteria 2024
To be eligible to apply, a female candidate must satisfy the following conditions:
- Born in the State of Goa;
- Resident of Goa for the past fifteen years
- Parental income not exceeding Rs. 3.00 lakhs per annum.; and
- Fulfill one of the following criteria:
- At least one parent born in Goa and residing in Goa for the past fifteen years;
- One parent has resided in Goa for the past twenty-five years;
Furthermore, a girl born outside Goa is eligible if she meets the following criteria:
- Resident of Goa for the past fifteen years;
- Parental income not exceeding Rs. 3.00 lakhs per annum.
- Educated in Goa for a minimum continuous period of seven years; and
- Meets one of the following conditions:
- At least one parent born in Goa and residing in Goa for the past fifteen years;
- One parent has resided in Goa for the past twenty-five years;
Goa Laadli Laxmi Scheme Documents Required 2024
- A self-certified copy of the applicant’s Birth Certificate.
- A 15-year Residence Certificate for the applicant in the State of Goa. Alternatively, School Leaving Certificates and/or Bonafide Student Certificates from a recognized Educational Institution can be submitted. If the applicant discontinued education at the school level, the gap period between discontinuation and Civil Marriage Registration can be proven with a residence certificate. For graduates, certificates of passing the 10th, 12th, and graduation are sufficient evidence.
- A self-certified copy of the Aadhar Card.
- A self-certified copy of the Civil Marriage Registration Certificate issued by the Competent Authority. Additionally, a self-certified copy of the 15 or 25-year Residence Certificate of one of the parents should be provided. In place of the Residence Certificate, other documentary evidence proving residence for the specified period, such as land records (tenancy rights, mundcarial rights, occupancy rights, etc.), employment certificates, or any records satisfying the Committee, can be submitted.
- A self-certified copy of the Birth Certificate of one of the parents. If no birth certificate is available, alternative documents indicating the date and place of birth, such as a Baptism certificate, School leaving certificate of the parent(s), or any document establishing that one of the grandparents lived in Goa around the time of the claimed date of birth, or any records establishing the parent’s date of birth, can be provided.
- A self-declaration from the applicant.
- A pre-receipt with a revenue stamp (in duplicate) as prescribed.
- An Annual Family Income Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.
- An attested copy of the savings bank account passbook (with IFSC and MICR details). The submitted bank account should preferably be linked to Aadhar for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) purposes.

You can apply for the Laadli Laxmi Scheme Goa through the offline process only, However, you can check your application status through online mode. Before you apply for the Laadli Laxmi Scheme, it is advised to check the complete eligibility criteria so that you don’t have to face any inconvenience at the time of filling out the application form. Here is the step-by-step process that you need to follow to fill in the application form. Eligible female beneficiaries can apply for the Goa Government’s Laadli Laxmi Scheme through the offline application form.
- You can obtain the application form from the District Office of the Women and Child Development Department, and you can download the Laadli Laxmi Scheme Application Form and fill in accurate information.
- After carefully completing the application form, Attach all the necessary documents specified in the Laadli Laxmi Scheme Application Form.
- Submit the completed application form, along with all the required documents, to the same district office where the Laadli Laxmi Scheme application form was obtained.
- The Department of Women and Child Development officials will carefully review the received application form and documents.
- Selected beneficiaries will receive notifications through SMS or Email on their mobile phones.
- Additionally, female beneficiaries can verify their inclusion in the Laadli Laxmi Scheme Beneficiary List by visiting the District Office of the Department.
- The application status for the Goa Laadli Laxmi Scheme can also be checked at the District Office of the Women and Child Development Department.
- Upon final approval, the financial assistance will be directly deposited into the bank account of the married girl beneficiary.

What happens to the financial assistance if the beneficiary passes away after marriage but before claiming the benefit?
In the unfortunate event of the beneficiary’s death post-marriage but before claiming the benefit, the financial assistance will be released to the parents. If both parents have passed away, the assistance will be released to the guardian mentioned in the Laadli Laxmi application of the deceased beneficiary.
