Under this scheme, any senior citizen above 60 years of age can visit his//her desired pilgrimage once in their life. The whole trip will be sponsored by the Delhi government. Each traveler is allowed one attendant aged 21 or older, and the government covers all expenses related to travel, food, and accommodation for both the senior citizen and the attendant.

The scheme allows 1,100 residents per assembly constituency to benefit annually, with a total cap of 77,000 residents per year. Since its launch, 38,000 senior citizens have availed themselves of this opportunity. 

The Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana is set to resume after being temporarily halted due to COVID-19. To participate, individuals must obtain a certificate from their local MLA confirming residence in the legislator’s constituency.  Interested individuals can apply for the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana 2023 online through the e-district portal, and manual applications are not accepted. • Repayment and Penalty:
  • If any applicant or their spouse has previously benefited from the MukhyamantriTirthYatra scheme, they are obligated to repay the entire yatra expenses plus a 25% penalty.
• Attendant Choice:
  • Applicants or spouses above 60 years old have the option to bring one attendant, provided the attendant is 21 years of age or older.
  • If traveling with a spouse, only one attendant is allowed.
• Intimation for Non-Undertaking:
  • If applicants cannot undertake the pilgrimage, they must provide notice at least 7 days before the travel date; otherwise, they will be ineligible to reapply under the scheme.
• Prohibited Items:
  • Yatris are prohibited from carrying or using inflammable materials, liquor, or any intoxicating articles during the journey.
• Responsibility for Belongings:
  • Yatris are fully responsible for their jewelry and personal belongings throughout the yatra.
• Conduct Expectations:
