Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana Objective

The objectives of the Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana have been provided below. 

• To enhance the illumination for weaving on the loom and provide proper lighting for preparatory tasks such as bobbin winding and tie-dye making. 
• Additionally, to ensure a smooth working environment with the help of a fan. 
• This setup aims to enable the weaver to continue their weaving activities during late evening hours, power outages, or low voltage situations, ultimately reducing eye strain and fatigue. 
• By allowing the weaver to work for longer hours, it will result in increased production and improved earnings. 
• Moreover, this setup aims to promote better health for the weaver by reducing physical strain on their eyes and overall body.

Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana Benefits 

As a beneficiary of the scheme, you will receive various benefits under the Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana. 

• You will receive a free distribution of 20-watt tube lights, and there will be no cost involved for you.
• You will be given ₹17,500 free of cost to purchase inverters under this scheme. The money will be provided by the Odisha government.
• You will also receive a 35-watt fan at no cost. The expenses for the fan will be covered by the Orissa government, and all eligible beneficiaries will receive one.
• Another significant advantage is that you will have access to a loan of up to ₹5,000 under the Ballia scheme. The loan will not incur any interest, making it a zero-interest loan for you.

Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana Proposed Components

The government has proposed to supply the following to every weaver household and family:

• An inverter of 650VA along with a battery of 100 AH provides 15 hrs backup. Output giving 230 or 240v, Pure Sine wave, rating 650VA, 50HZ. Battery -12V, 100AH lead acid as per IS 13314 i.e. solid state inverter run from storage batteries.
• One energy-efficient LED tube light of 20 watts (to be fitted on the loom/work shed/preparatory workplaces for bobbin winding, tie-dye making, etc).
• Another energy-efficient LED tube light of 20 watts in the shed.
• One energy-efficient ceiling fan of 35-watt BLDC (Brushless DC).

Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana Eligible Beneficiaries 

The scheme aims to cover all eligible weavers and ancillary workers in the State. However, the coverage will occur in phases, considering the annual target. To achieve this, eligible beneficiaries will be prioritized according to the following manner: 

• Divorcees, Destitute, Widow Women
• Physically Handicapped (more than 50% Inability)
• Scheduled Tribe
• Scheduled Caste
• All eligible weavers household/ ancillary workers household above the age of 40.
• Others.

Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana Eligibility Criteria 

Before you apply for the Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana, it is important to check the complete eligibility criteria. Please look at the list below for detailed Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana eligibility criteria. 

• If you are a bonafide weaver or a full-time ancillary worker, and you are a permanent resident or have a domicile in Odisha, you can avail the benefits of the scheme
• Your family income from all sources should not exceed Rs. 3,00,000 per annum.
• At least 50% of your family’s income should come from weaving activities.
• You should not have previously received similar benefits from the State Government, Central Government, or any other Government Agency.
• To be eligible, you must purchase the lighting unit from a GST-registered dealer with a valid TIN.
• If multiple members of your family meet the eligibility criteria, only one of them will be entitled to receive the benefits under this scheme.

Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana Documents Required

Under Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana, if you wish to avail yourself of the benefits, you will need to provide the following documents. By providing these documents, you can apply for the benefits and support available to weavers and ancillary workers.

• Recent passport-size color photograph (copy).
• Self-attested copy of your Weavers Identity Card or a certificate proving that you are a bonafide weaver or ancillary worker.
• Self-attested copy of your AADHAR card.
• Self-attested Xerox copy of the 1st page of your individual Savings Bank Passbook, which should display your photograph, full name, name of father/spouse, address, bank, branch, account number, IFSC, and MICR code details. The account should be in your name, as mentioned in the application form, and should be opened in a bank with core banking facilities for digital fund transfer.
• Certificate regarding the total annual family income from the concerned Tahasildar.
• An affidavit stating that you are not receiving similar assistance from either the State or Central Government.
• An undertaking confirming that you will not sell the lighting unit within three years from the date of purchase.

The eligible weaver-household (Head of the Family) can obtain the prescribed application format through the Directorate’s website in online mode. 

• Visit the Official website of Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana. 

• After that, create an account with your credentials. 

• Now, log in using the provided details. You will be redirected to the landing page of the page.

• Within the scheme section, select the Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana and proceed to fill in the required information, including Personal Details, Address Details, Income/Bank/Electricity Details, and upload the necessary documents. 
• It is advised to fill in all the required details with utmost care. 
• Finally, submit the completed application online.

However, for areas with limited access to online facilities, the concerned Zonal Officers will assist beneficiaries in collecting their applications and subsequently upload them to the Online Portal of the Directorate.
