Under the Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha program, the Jagannath culture will be safeguarded in rural areas. All temples and sacred sites will undergo enhancements to ensure the preservation of these vital centers of culture and tradition for the well-being of future generations. This initiative, previously known as “Ama Gaon Ama Bikash,” which was launched on September 18, 2019, has been revamped and rebranded as “Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha.”

Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha 2023 program seeks to empower villages by providing them with internet access, sports facilities, training centers for Self-Help Groups (SHGs), banking services, and improved digital connectivity.

Odisha is the homeland of Jagannath culture, which spreads the values of love, peace, harmony, equality, and service. The primary objective of the scheme is to safeguard Jagannath culture by developing places of worship and preserving heritage sites with significant cultural value in villages.

Odisha CM Initiates Disbursement of Funds for Rural Development Under ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ Program

On October 10, nearly three months after receiving the Odisha Cabinet’s approval for the ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ scheme,, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik officially commenced the allocation of funds for panchayat development in the state.

The State government has allocated ₹148.50 crore for 297-gram panchayats within six Assembly constituencies of Keonjhar district and ₹109 crore for 218 gram panchayats in Bhadrak district. Odisha aims to spend a total of ₹3,397 crore for the development of 6,794-gram panchayats across the state, supporting a total of 90,723 projects. Each panchayat is entitled to receive ₹50 lakh, with project costs ranging from ₹2.5 lakh to ₹10 lakh.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik emphasized efforts to enhance digital infrastructure in each village, which will include the establishment of a science park, a work hub, and banking facilities. Additionally, primary schools will also be integrated into this program.

 The initiative also includes measures to improve rural infrastructure, ultimately contributing to accelerated growth. However, it is worth noting that a significant number of project proposals received from gram panchayats primarily focus on the development of temples.”
