In a recent announcement, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan made some remarkable decisions for the welfare of women. Under MukhyaMantri Ladli Behna Yojana which was launched on January 28, 2023, the monthly compensation has now been changed from Rs 1000 to Rs 1250. Now, the women of MP will get 250 rupees extra every month. This will be a rakhi gift for the women of MP who will also enjoy the cylinder at a subsidised rate of Rs 450. They will get cylinders at this rate in Sawan, however, this will continue in the coming months.
As part of the initiative, women will have the opportunity to receive plots of land within industrial zones, allowing them to establish small-scale businesses. The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh mentioned that one of the state government’s goals is to elevate women’s earnings to a minimum of ₹10,000 per month.

After the successful implementation of Ladli Behna Yojana, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has now launched Ladli Behna 2.0 with some new changes in eligibility and more.
- Ladli Bahna Yojna 2.0 Age Limit – The new age limit has been changed from 23 to 21 years as the minimum age limit. Now women from 21 to 60 years of age will be able to take the benefit of the scheme.
- Additional eligibility criteria – It has been announced that now newly married women can also apply for Ladli Bahna Yojana 2.0 and avail of the benefits of the scheme.
- Change in incentive amount – It has also been announced that the women beneficiaries will now get ₹ 1250 a month as an incentive from September 2023.
250 Rupees for Rakshabandhan
CM Shivraj has decided to gift 250 rupees for Rakhi. He will instantly deposit this amount into your account so that you can enjoy Rakhi festivity. Additionally, on September 10, 1000 rupees will be added to the accounts of dear sisters. Starting from October, 1250 rupees will be deposited every month. This means that this month, ‘beloved sisters’ will receive a total of 1250 rupees, which includes 250 rupees for Rakhi. Similarly, ‘Mama’ has announced that from October onwards, 1250 rupees will be available in the account every month.
Electricity Bill at Rs 100 per month (Fixed)
Addressing the concern of high electricity bills, CM Shivraj conveyed, “My dear sisters have informed me about the rising electricity bills. I want to assure you all that I have taken a decision today. There will be no collection of extra charges reflected in the electricity bills. I will make sure of it. The additional charges will be waived off for September. Furthermore, starting from there, the electricity bill for our financially challenged sisters will be fixed at Rs 100 per month.”
Reservation in Government Jobs for Women
During the ‘Ladli Bahna Sammelan,’ CM Shivraj made a significant announcement regarding women’s reservation in government jobs. He stated, “My sisters and daughters, we are taking a step further. There are numerous government positions that need to be filled, and from now on, at least 35% of these positions will be reserved for women.”

In the realm of housing, CM Shivraj introduced a new initiative. He shared, “For our sisters without land to call home, the government will provide free plots. We’ve successfully retrieved city land from the clutches of the land mafia.
