There are many challenges faced by impoverished families migrating from rural to urban areas in the state for work and business opportunities. While temporary accommodation is provided through night shelters, the lack of proper food arrangements forces these families to struggle. Those seeking employment or business opportunities often have to search for food, causing additional hardships. Additionally, many low-income urban families currently struggle to access affordable and nutritious meals. To address these issues, the government initiated the “MP Deendayal Antyodaya Rasoi Yojana” in 52 district headquarters across the state and set up 173 kitchen centers in six religious cities: Maihar, Amarkantak, Maheshwar, Omkareshwar, Chitrakoot, and Orchha.
