Delhi Ladli Scheme is a welfare scheme launched for the girl child born in the state on or after January 01, 2008. It was launched by the Department of Women & Children Development in the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. If you have a daughter born in your household and your annual income is below Rs 1 lakh, residing in Delhi for the past three years, you can benefit from the scheme. The long-term fixed deposit receipts, granted under these rules, shall be in the name of the girl child and can only be encashed after she reaches 18 years, passes Class 10 as a regular student, or enrolls in Class 12.
The scheme’s Fund Manager for this scheme is the State Bank Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (SBIL).
Subsequent fixed deposits require parents/guardians to produce the child’s report card and attendance/admission certificate from a Govt./MCD/NDMC or Govt. recognized school.
Financial assistance is limited to two girl children per family.
In the unfortunate event of the girl child’s demise before reaching eighteen years, the long-term fixed deposit receipt will be forfeited and returned to the government treasury.
The fixed deposit receipt cannot be used for loans or other credit facilities and is non-transferable, non-refundable, and ineligible for premature encashment.
