Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana Eligiblty Criteria

Before applying for the scheme, it is imperative to check the complete eligibility criteria. To qualify for unemployment relief under Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana , employees must meet certain criteria:

  • They should be covered under Section 2(9) of the ESI Act.
  • The individual must be rendered unemployed during the period they claim the relief.
  • They should have been in insurable employment for a minimum of two years.
  • The Insured Person should have contributed for not less than 78 days during each of the preceding four contribution periods.
  • The employer should have paid or payable the contributions on their behalf.
  • The unemployment should not be a result of punishment for misconduct, superannuation, or voluntary retirement.
  • The Insured Person’s Aadhar and Bank Account should be linked with the insured person database.

  • Identity Proof: Valid government-issued identity documents such as Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License.
  • Address Proof: Documents that establish the current residential address of the insured person, including utility bills, ration card, or any other address verification issued by a competent authority.
  • ESI Registration Proof: The certificate of registration under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme.
  • Bank Account Details: Bank account information, including the account number and IFSC code, for the purpose of transferring the ABVKY benefits.

Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana Disqualification

The Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY) does not provide relief in the following circumstances:

  • During Lockout: If the employee is facing unemployment due to a lockout at their workplace, they will not be eligible for benefits under ABVKY.
  • Illegal Strike: If the employee’s unemployment is a result of participating in a strike declared illegal by the competent authority, they will not be entitled to ABVKY benefits.
  • Voluntary Abandonment or Retirement: Employees who have voluntarily abandoned their employment, taken voluntary retirement, or opted for premature retirement will not be covered under ABVKY.
  • Less Than Two Years Contributory Service: Individuals who have not completed a minimum of two years of contributory service under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) scheme will not be eligible for ABVKY benefits.
  • Superannuation: Upon attaining the age of superannuation, employees will no longer be eligible for relief under ABVKY.
  • Conviction Under ESI Act: If an insured person is convicted and punished for false statements under Section 84 of the ESI Act read with Rule 62 of the ESI (Central) Rules, they will not be entitled to ABVKY benefits.
  • Re-Employment During ABVKY Period: If an individual secures new employment while receiving relief under ABVKY, they will no longer be eligible for the benefits.
  • Dismissal or Termination under Disciplinary Action: Employees who have been dismissed or terminated from their job as a result of disciplinary action are not covered under ABVKY.
  • Death of the Insured Person: In the unfortunate event of the insured person’s death, the ABVKY benefits will not be applicable.

Before you apply for ABVKY claim online, it is advised to check the complete Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana eligibility. After you find yourself eligible for the scheme, check your documents and follow the steps provided below. 

Please note that the process of claiming the insurance is not fully online. You have to go to the ESIC Office in order to ask for a claim. Follow the steps provided below and you will be able to get the benefit of the scheme. 

  • To avail the benefit of the Atal Insured Person Welfare Scheme, visit the official website of ESIC
  • After that, look for the ABVKY Application form PDF. Read the application form very carefully.
  • Fill in the ABVKY Application Form with utmost care otherwise you may have to face inconvenience while calining the insurance under ESIC. 
  • Along with Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana application form, you will also have to get an affidavit from a notary (as mentioned in the form) on non-judicial paper of Rs.20, in this form AB-1 to AB-4 will have to be submitted.
  • Submit the form along with the notary in the ESIC Office along with the required documents.
